Happy Friday the 13th!!!

Mwa ha ha ha.  So today is Friday the 13th and it's October.  AND I happen to love Halloween.  Here is a confession that kind of goes along with all of that (kind of).  I am also a true crime junkie.  I make macarons during the week while hubby is at work and kiddos are at school.  It gets pretty quiet around this old house.  So, I listen to a couple podcasts while I whip meringue and pipe the batter.    One of my favorite podcasts is My Favorite Murder with Georgia Hardstark and Karen Killgariff. They are two funny comedians who also have an obsession with true crime.  I don't really know how they do it, but I laugh through these episodes even though these are awful crimes they go over.  I think I love the banter between the two ladies the best, that is the funny part, not the murder part.  Here is why I appreciate true crime things.  Since delving into this dark guilty pleasure (?) I have become more aware of my surroundings, I remain friendly but always think through my actions, especially if I am alone at night walking my dog or getting to my car in a parking lot.  I am not paranoid, but also not as blindly trusting as I KNOW I was.  That and the fact that they raise awareness for charities such as End the Backlog, http://www.endthebacklog.org   which helps crime labs test rape kits in a more timely manner and providing a better chance for victims finding justice.

Give it a listen if you also like true crime and won't be offended by several F bombs.  Where was I going with this?  Oh yes.  My Murderino Macarons.  Stay Sexy Don't Get Murdered on Friday the 13th, or ever.
